Noble Metal Promoted TiO2 from Silver-Waste Valorisation: Synergism between Ag and Au

چکیده

Wastewaters from precious metal industries contain high amounts of noble metals, but their efficient recycling is hindered by the wastewater complex composition. Here, we propose an innovative approach for recovery metals contained in these metal-enriched wastewaters as precursors synthesis nanoparticles (NPs) and supported catalysts. Silver NPs were synthesized Ag-enriched then deposited on TiO2 to prepare photocatalysts. Then, further promotion photocatalytic activity Ag-modified was achieved addition little 0.5 wt.% Au. STEM-EDS analyses proved that Au located Ag or AgOx nanoparticles. The contact between two metal-containing results charge transfer effects, appreciable both terms oxidation states determined XPS optical properties. In particular, plasmon band shows photochromic effects: under UV light irradiation, bimetallic samples exhibit a blue-shift band, which reversible dark storage. materials tested towards ethanol photodegradation light. Adding resulted promoted compared Ag-TiO2, thus showing synergistic effects Ag. Ethanol completely converted already after 1 h acetaldehyde formed main product fully degraded less than 180 min. Notably, showed ethylene formation parallel dehydration mechanism.

Leaching of Gold and Silver from Crushed Au-Ag Wastes

Au-Ag noble metal wastes represent a wide range of waste types and forms with various ballast elements and components. The thiourea process of gold and silver extraction from ores, concentrates or secondary raw materials consists of gold and silver leaching into the thiourea solution and the consequent precipitation of these metals from the solution. Due to the non-toxic character of thiourea i...

Microstructural and plasmonic modifications in Ag–TiO2 and Au–TiO2 nanocomposites through ion beam irradiation

The development of new fabrication techniques of plasmonic nanocomposites with specific properties is an ongoing issue in the plasmonic and nanophotonics community. In this paper we report detailed investigations on the modifications of the microstructural and plasmonic properties of metal-titania nanocomposite films induced by swift heavy ions. Au-TiO2 and Ag-TiO2 nanocomposite thin films with...

Adsorption behavior of noble metal ions (Au, Ag, Pd) on nanometer-size titanium dioxide with ICP-AES.

The adsorption behavior of gold (Au), silver (Ag) and palladium (Pd) on nanometer-size titanium dioxide (NSTD) at low concentrations was studied using inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectrometry (ICP-AES). A preconcentration procedure of the analytes was carried out using NSTD as a solid-phase extractant before their determination by ICP-AES. The optimum conditions for adsorption we...
